Until about 1982, Drouin Pony Club rallies were held in Bennett St Drouin, behind the Tennis Courts. Then, the Bellbird Park Committee of Management was approached to propose transferring to the present grounds in Shillinglaw Rd Drouin. The Club members raised funds through various means to assist with the building of the Clubrooms and many hours of labour were spent erecting the shed and concreting the floor. The building of the covered stalls came next, followed by the countless hours spent designing and building the Cross-Country course. We held many Easter camps awy from the grounds, places like, Tarwin Lower, Woodside, Seaspray, Noojee which, supported by most club members, were very successful and enjoyed by all. Drouin Pony Club won State Championships in Dressage in 1995. Riders at the time were: Prue Wood, Lisa Meehl, Jamie Reynolds and Louisa Nicholson. Drouin Pony Club have competed in most State Championships in Dressage and Games Teams many times and been very successful and enjoyed by all competitors and parents alike. |
